This allows a character to see in a way similar to sonar. An emitter device installed in one eye sends out continuous ultrasonic pulses, sweeping from side to side. The receiver installed in the other eye receives the echoes of the pulses and converts them into electrical signals. These signals are converted into a topographic image. When activated the ultrasound map overlays the users normal vision. This can see through mana based illusions but not physical ones.
Ultrasound vision can not see through Silence spells however.
